Everybody knows how they do it south of the border. Here are some pictures we have gathered of some nice street cars and fast race cars, north of the border, or is that fast street cars and nice race cars?
This fine Canadian Street/Race car belongs to Andy Gross of Fort Erie, Ontario. Car was built by John of John's Bug Shop and Andy Gross over a 6 year period. Engine is a Turbo-Charged Dave and Judy Kawell unit that is dyno'd at 190hp on pump gas. Transmission is a bone stock Bus IRS that has broke only once. Cars best quarter mile time is 12.97@ 103mph. This Canadian Race car belongs to and is piloted by Mark Kendall of Insane Brothers Racing. This car was engineered and built using the skills of Hudson Isherwood (The other brother of Insane Brothers). This car has been powered by many different small displacement engines (under 1914cc), and is quite exiting to watch pulling wheel stands. Cars weighs only 900 lbs, and best quarter mile time is 12.10 @ 105mph. Check out more details here. Insane Brothers Racing
This Canadian Race Car belongs to the famous team of Ziegried & Bly. These guys have been Drag Racing VWs in Canada and the USA since the early part of the 70's. Many years of research and development, have put this team way out front of the others, holding on to the B/Sedan drag racing record for many years. Cars best quarter mile time is 9.60 @ 140.38mph. Best eighth mile time is 6.09 @ 121.55mph. For all you Muscle Car Boys, it doesn't have one of those Porsche Engines in it, either! "Just a little VW 4 Banger".
This Canadian Street car belongs to Jody Zimmerman of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Countless hours of time and that green stuff, has proven that Jody's ride is one very nice street cruiser. This car looks as good on the inside and underside, as it does on the outside. To check out more details Go Here.
This Trick Buggy belongs to Wayne Kehl of Conestoga, Ontario. Wayne did all the work on the buggy himself. Buggy has a large 2275cc Engine which has all the go fast goodies in it. Transmission is a Type 2 with close ratio third and fourth. Wayne drag races the buggy at the different VW Shows and drives it on the street. Car's best time to date is:
This Famous Canadian Road Racing Champion is now owned by John & Nancy Spironello. It was purchased from long time VW enthusiast Ernest Abel from Wiarton, Ontario. Hopefully this car will be making another appearance in the Road Racing Circuit soon. Car is VW powered and has a fully adjustable Race Car Style chassis under it's skin. This car consumes fuel, like it's going out of style, and has been known to have a delicacy for Corvette's, Trans-Am's, Porsche, and sometimes even 280 Z's.
